NOTE: RECENTLY SOLD - Please let us know if you would be interested if we get another copy.

Wonderful copy of this magnificent and highly sought after volume. Very scarce indeed.

Folio; dimensions: 335mm high x 265mm wide x 50mm deep.

xxxix + 109pp + LXXXV plates, mostly in colour.

The book is in near fine condition, bound in full amber morocco with 5 raised bands and gilt lettering and front cover motif. Only very minor shelfwear. Endpapers slightly leather marked, but book is in excellent condition, the heavy uncut paper remaining clean and bright. No signatures, not ex-library and no owner's bookplate.

Supplied with original matching cloth covered clamshell box. In good condition but some splitting to cloth at joint and a little rubbed and worn and leather soiled interior, but still fully functional and intact.

Also, included with this book is a small collection of contemporary documents from the previous owner. This includes a related newspaper cutting in envelope, a postcard, booklet and a 48 page exhibition catalogue from 1936 of the Leonard Gow Collection exhibition in Glasgow. Itself a very rare catalogue (the first time we have seen this).

The Catalogue of The Leonard Gow Collection of Chinese Porcelain remains one of the most desirable books on Chinese art, being based on one of the most important collections of Chinese ceramics ever assembled.
