A good set of black cloth hardbacks with gilt title to spine. Dustjackets are present, but a little ragged around the edges with discoloration to dustjackets. Text is clean. The binding has a little give in it at the spine - quite common with these books, which were still being produced "in complete accordance with the authorized economy standards" designed to reduce expenditure post-war. Volume 1 has cracked hinge to webbing at the title page. Other volumes are intact. Red pages edges to top of text block.
