Days and Ways in Old Boston, William S. Rossiter, 1915
Days and Ways in Old Boston, by William S. Rossiter. Drawings by Malcom Fraser and Jacques Reich of the Art Staff of the Century Magazine, New York.
Published R. H. Stearns and Company, 1915. Third edition - which consisted of 5,000 copies, following the 1st and 2nd editions, also of 5,000 copies each.
This is a handsome copy in a fine binding, which would make an attractive addition to any library. The book has been completely rebound in three quarters leather, with marbled boards, and raised bands and gilt label to spine. Spine is slightly darkened. The contents are soundly bound inside.
Text is very good. The list of illustrations page has several large nicks in the border (see photo) and p12 has one such tear. Otherwise text is nice and clean throughout. Some discoloration to spreads where there are glossy plates due to the type of paper used, but not severe. Overall, an attractive volume.
144pp + plates.
Dimensions: Approximately 230mm high x 160mm wide x 20mm.
