A good+ copy of this imposing hardback volume, bound in the original Publisher's red cloth with elaborate gilt and black printed cover design. Covers with light wear. Pictorial endpapers. Ex-library reading room copy (Paisley Public Library), with 'Discard' stamp to label on first pastedown. Small sticker removal mark to top corner of free pictorial endpaper.
With bookplate of 'Sigillum Johannis Malden' to reverse of first free endpaper. Presumably 'seal of John Malden'. With cloth strenthening tape at gutter after this endpaper, where there is weakness in the binding, with main following text block a solid block.
Text is clean and bright throughout, with mild age-toning, containing line illustrations and some full page black and white, and colour, advertisers' Plates. Speckled red text block edge as issued with some light usage marks.
