A good hardback with leather spine and gilt titles. Marbled paper over boards. Covers are rubbed, scuffed and bumped, and leather is worn. Lower part of leather spine is cracked open at lower rear joint.

Text is soundly bound and overall is in very good condition - bright and clean throughout with occasional age spotting. Some light marginal staining at rear and a few marks to edge of text block. First free endpaper has a corner cut off on the top right, and there is also a corner cut off on the lower right margin of the pictorial title page.
