Doctor Zhivago, Boris Pasternak, 1959
Doctor Zhivago, by Boris Pasternak. Translated from the Russian by Max Heyward and Manya Harari. With a particularly striking dustjacket design.
Published by The Reprint Society, London, 1959. First edition thus, but first published in 1958 in this English translation by Wm. Collins and Co. Ltd., London.
Very good overall - a paper covered hardback with gilt, in black and red cover design. Cover is crisp and sharp. Dustjacket is very good, with a little wear to edges and light soiling to rear.
Text is bright and soundly bound, but with age spotting to edge of text block and a few light spots to endpapers. With loose Publisher's advertisement for another publication included. Sprayed colour edge to top of text block, as issued.
Text in English.
