An impressive set of copiously illustrated volumes on Egypt.

Published by Cassell & Company, Limited: London, Paris, New York & Melbourne, 1887. 

A pair of good green cloth hardbacks with ornamental polychrome covers, with gilt. Rubbed, bumped and scuffed, with some give in the spine. Cracked endpapers, weak at the inner joints.

Text is general is very good and is bright and clean throughout, with only the occasional mark. Some minor flaws; p19, lower part of page has been removed and a tear on p.21. A few gatherings are not quite flush with text block, but an attractive reading set for those interested in Egyptology.
