A good maroon cloth hardback with gilt titles to spine. With bumping and wear, and a little give in the spine. Some fraying to head and tail of spine. Some offsetting to endpapers.

Text is bright and clean throughout. Some of the illustrations have been hand coloured by the owner - but in a well done manner - at first glance they look printed. With tissue guarded frontispiece.
