The album dates from the Victorian era, and 1870 appears handwritten on several occasions.

The book is a hardback with decorative embossed covers, but is now missing the spine section. Only in fair condition overall. There are a few detached pages and others are only weakly bound by thread. Some scattered loose tissue guards.

Inside are pages of beautiful script written in French, alongside many scrapbook style printed images, a few original drawings, lace style papers, embroidered fabrics, and printed cards.
