Very good red leather hardback with gilt design and raised bands to spine. Some shelf wear and bumping and wear to vertical edges of spine. Bookplate to first pastedown, along with small bookseller's sticker, and previous owners name to first free endpaper (verso). Some age spotting to endpapers and pages surrounding plates.
Text is very good and is nice and clean with lovely illustrations throughout. The two colour title/section pages are bright and clean with metallic gold ink. Edges of text block are not only gilt, but also have an inscribed pattern. A handsome volume.
Text in French and Latin.
