A good brown leather hardback with gilt motif to front and gilt titles and raised bands and label to spine. Spine is scuffed and bumped with wear to extremities and hinges, but all soundly bound. Previous owner's bookplate - Gilbert Murray - to first pastedown. Murray (1866-1957) was a highly respected classicist and Regius Professor of Greek at Oxford. His name is also signed to the reverse of the second free endpaper, but this may be in a different hand.

Marbled endpapers and text block edges. Text is clean and bright throughout and soundly bound. Scarce edition.
