Karl Marx; A Contribution to the Critique of Political Economy, 1904, 1st edition in English

The first edition in English of Marx's important study of commodities, value and money, originally published in German in 1859 and anticipating arguments developed in Das Kapital. Translated by N. I. Stone, this edition also includes Marx's previously unpublished Introduction as an appendix. An interesting copy from the collection of economic historian and Marx biographer Vincent Barnett, with his ownership signature.

Provenance: Most recently from the collection of Vincent Barnett, a noted Research Fellow in the fields of History, Russian Studies and Economics, and biographer of Karl Marx, with his work 'Marx' published in 2009. The book with his signature to the first free endpaper. 

A good green cloth hardback in the original Publisher's binding. With light wear and a little bumping to head and tail of spine. The spine with gilt titles, and both cover boards have some splash marks. With plain endpapers which are cracked at front inner hinge, and intact at rear, but binding is sound. First free endpaper also has the words 'Social Economies' in ink to top corner.

The text is clean and bright throughout., with the occasional usage mark.
