£1,000.00
SKU LAN7733

Marah, by Owen Meredith (aka Edward Robert Lytton Bulwer Lytton, 1st Earl of Lytton 1831-1891). Lytton was Viceroy and Governor-General of India, and later, British Ambassador to France.

Unpublished and Private. 1891 first edition. Printed in London by Henderson and Spalding. This was Lytton's first publication, a book of poetry; and he went on to publish subsequent works under the Owen Meredith name. The private printing of this work makes it a very scarce edition. Worldcat identifies only one library holding worldwide for this 1891 printing – The British Library.

A good paperback in card wraps. Covers are foxed and soiled, with nicks and creases, and losses to head and tail of spine. Inner joint with a small gap to cover. First endpapers are also a little spotted, but remaining text is clean and bright. Text page lengths and widths vary, as issued, and contents title remains uncut at top edge. A scarce find.

Text in English.
