A very good set of taupe cloth hardbacks with elaborate gilded crest to front and gilt spine design. Covers with just mild bumping and wear. Volume XI slightly darker in colour.

Text is very good - bright and clean throughout, with red keylines throughout. Some foxing to Vol I title spread with tissue guarded frontispiece and some spotting to vertical edge of text block. Other title spreads are clean. Vol XI with owner's stamp to title page and no spotting to text block edge. Soundly bound. Occasional page edge still uncut.

A handsome set which would make a nice addition to any library shelf.
