Old Thai Woodcarved Statue, Large Kneeling figure, 56cm high, TWMF05.

This beautiful Thai carving, from Northern Thailand, is wonderfully weather-worn and would have stood outside in Thailand.Very nicely carved and finished with the wear providing great character to the piece. A charming sculpture.

The figure depicts a kneeling young man in supporting pose - probably a servant. Placing a mounted glass top on this would turn it into a stunning small table.

This would have been carved circa 1930s - 1960s.

Teak wood. Very worn due to age but structurally sound. Mounted onto a metal base plate (carries wear and rust marks, but actually suits the piece). Please view photographs.

This type of statue could have been used outdoors in Thailand, but in a typically damp western European climate, probably best kept indoors.

Dimensions - approx 56cm high, 30cm wide x 30cm deep.
