These volumes compile the contents of pamphlets about Pitman's shorthand. They are more commonly found as loose pamphlets and not as the hardback bound volumes. These are also early examples, with most of the pamphlets generally available being from the latter part of the 19th Century. An interesting slice of history. Scarce in this form.
A nice set of 2 very good volumes. Half leather with gilt and raised bands to spine. Brown cloth over boards (differing textures on each). Feathered marbling to text block edges. Some bumping and shelf wear to covers.
Text is nice and clean throughout with a little age toning. 1 x corner nibble of final free endpaper of 1st volume.
