A limited edition produced to commemorate Edinburgh University's 300th anniversary. The book comprises biographical and visual portraits of the key educational figures of the University, including their facsimile signatures.

Printed at the University Press, Edinburgh, by T. & A. Constable, 1884. A first, limited edition. 750 copies of this Quarto edition were produced, of which this is number 184.

A good copy of this large format green cloth bound hardback with printed cover design to front and spine. Covers with some soiling and bumped to extremities. Spine a little faded. Some cracking to front inner hinge, but all soundly bound. 

The text pages are rough cut, as issued, to fore-edge and lower edge, with the top being toned red. They are generally bright and clean, with the occasional usage mark. The text block edges are dust toned to extremities. With loose Publisher's advertisement inserted at rear.
