This is the very scarce 1st edition, large format hardback, large quarto.

xxviii + 160pp text + 160 plates with page for annotation for each one.

Essential for Chinese art book collectors - this exhibition was the most most important exhibition of Chinese Art ever held in the UK.

Good condition overall. Cover only in fair condition, bumped and worn, with gaps along edge of spine (see photographs).

The interior of the book is very good - endpaper joints intact and clean, text pages and plates all nice and clean - just some minor age discoloration.

Some pages uncut. Top edge gilt.

Ex-library - sticker to lower spine and inside front cover. Library slips to rear inside cover. No library ownership or withdrawn stamps to any of the text or plates, except for the withdrawn stamps to title page. Also signature to first free endpaper and title page.
