A novel written by Henry Brooke. Originally privately published in 1765-1770, then revised and printed by Edward Johnston in 1776. This being an early edition from the following year.

A good set of 4 Volumes in their original full leather bindings. Leather is worn, rubbed and bumped, but all are bound. Each volume has gilt number and title label to spine. Each has frontispiece + title page. Text is in good condition throughout, with occasional worming or minor foxing, but very legible and clean for age. Sadly missing Volume 2, but priced accordingly for this scarce issue.

Dimensions each volume approximately 180mm high x 10mm wide x 25mm deep. Substantial - set weighs just over 1.1kg unpacked.
