The Freer Chinese Bronzes: Volume 1: Catalogue and Volume 2: Technical Studies, 1967 2 volume set. By John Alexander Pope, Rutherford John Gettens, James Cahill, Noel Barnard.
Published by Smithsonian Institution, Freer Gallery of Art, Oriental Studies No. 7. Washington 1967 and 1969.
Very impressive (and large and heavy) 2 volume set. This was originally intended to be a 3 volume set, but Volume 3 was never published.
Both volumes have green cloth over board covers with gilt lettering and motif. Volume 1 xxii + 638pp. Frontispiece + 116 plates (8 in colour). Volume 2 xviii + 257pp. Frontispiece + many tables and illustrations throughout.
Both volumes are in fine condition. Both dustjackets are present and covered in mylar. Both dustjackets have minor wear and are very good overall.
An excellent, authorative set.
Volume 1: 315mm high x 240mm wide x 60mm deep.
Volume 2: 315mm high x 240mm wide x 30mm deep.
