The Greek Adventure (Lord Byron), by David Howarth, signed, first edition
The Greek Adventure; Lord Byron and Other Eccentrics in the War of Independence, by David Howarth.
Provenance; from the library of the late William St Clair (1937 - 2021), British historian, academic and author. Contains various pencil annotations by him in the text. The half title carries a signed presentation inscription from David Howarth to William St Clair. Also present are some documents concerning a literary review of the work (including a very unflattering note about the work addressed to William St Clair - presumably from a Reviews editor. The news clipping published in the Sunday Telegraph which is included here is far more complimentary). Please see our other listings for related works.
