Edward Gibbon's The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire is one of the great works of historical scholarship and literature, tracing the history of the Roman Empire from the age of the Antonines in the second century through the fall of Constantinople in 1453. First published between 1776 and 1789, Gibbon's monumental history combines formidable scholarship with an elegant and often sharply critical narrative style, and has remained continuously in print for more than two centuries. Offered here is the complete work in seven compact volumes from The World's Classics series, attractively presented in uniform black limp leather bindings with gilt decoration and map-patterned endpapers.

The World's Classics: The History of The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, by Edward Gibbons. In 7 volumes, complete.
