The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams, BCA Edition, 1980
The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams. Classic British science fiction from Douglas Adams - the first in the Hitch Hiker's series.
Published by Book Club Associates by arrangement with Arthur Baker Limited, 1980. Published shortly after the first trade edition of 1979, and produced in a very similar design. Key differences are a plain blue rear to the dustjacket, (akin to second state trade edition with no Publisher's advertisement), no price on the inner flap, BCA logo to spine, and including the BCA publishing information on the reverse of the title page.
A fine navy blue hardback with gilt to spine, in a near fine dustjacket, with removable clear plastic protective wrap. Dustjacket with very slight wear to extremities.
Text is clean, bright and soundly bound, and looks unread. The final blank has a flattened production crease.
A very nice copy indeed of an edition which is now becoming scarce, which any Hitch Hiker fan would be delighted to have.
