Published by William Heinemann, London, December 1910. 2nd impression of the 3rd edition. Originally published in 1898,  enlarged and revised in 1907, then published with additional illustrations and revisions for this edition. A Rackham classic.

A good blue cloth hardback of this book, containing many beautiful illustrated plates by Arthur Rackham.

Cover with some wear and bumping, and spine is faded and stained, with some crinkling. A large text block with just a little give in the spine, but all still bound. With pictorial endpapers. Cracked to gutter after first free endpaper. Missing a blank free endpaper before half title as there are some adhesions near the gutter.

Text block is nice and clean throughout. The Arthur Rackham plates are mounted on green textured card, with printed paper guards in front of each one.

A beautifully illustrated book - the tipped-in plates are lovely and clean - with their printed guards present. Top edge is blue, as issued, with some mottling to finish.

xix + 549pp - Includes 24pp coloured tipped in plates, including frontispiece (collated and as called for), plus 12pp tinted illustration pages, and many illustrations in the text.
