An unusual and attractive custom leather binding of this title from the ever-popular New Naturalist series. 

Published by Collins, London, 1973. A reprint of the third edition published in 1969. The first edition was in 1955.

A very good hardback with brown leather spine and corners. with raised bands and gilt to spine. Brown cloth over boards. Some rubbing and wear. Marbled endpapers with linen strengthening to inner joints. First free blank beginning to pull away. With previous owner's name in pencil.

Text is in very good condition - bright, clean and soundly bound. Well illustrated throughout. Minor marks to text block edge.

The binding provides an interesting take on the New Naturalist series.
