A beautifully presented volume of this work by William Osler, first published by D. Appleton and company, New York, in 1892. Very much a deluxe edition from the Classics of Medicine Library, in full top-grain cowhide leather, and 22-karat gold edges to the text block.

The Principles and Practice of Medicine; Designed for the Use of Practitioners and Students of Medicine, by William Osler, M.D.

Privately printed for the members of The Classics of Medicine Library, a Division of Gryphon Editions, Ltd., Birmingham, Alabama, 1978. Numbered copy.

A near fine copy, in a very attractive full navy blue leather binding, with gilt decoration and raised bands to spine. With marbled endpapers, shiny gilt edges to text block and satin page marker ribbon. With Classics of Medicine bookplate to first pastedown - from the library of Dr James M Leith, and this copy numbered 538.

Text is bright and clean throughout. Some light mottling to top gilt edge, and some minor indentations to rear cover. Soundly bound - looks to be unread. A very smart book indeed, making a handsome addition to any library.

Text in English.
