The Scientific Papers of the Late Thomas Andrews brings together the collected work of Thomas Andrews, one of the leading figures in nineteenth-century physical chemistry. Best known for his pioneering research on the continuity of the gaseous and liquid states, Andrews made significant contributions to the understanding of critical phenomena and the behaviour of gases under pressure. This posthumous volume, published in 1889 and accompanied by a memoir by Peter Guthrie Tait and Alexander Crum Brown, offers both a comprehensive account of his scientific achievements and a valuable insight into the development of modern chemistry during the Victorian period.

The Scientific Papers of the Late Thomas Andrews, M.D., F.R.S., Vice President and Professor of Chemistry, Queen's College, Belfast. With a Memoir by P.G. Tait, M.A., Sec.R.S.E., and A.
