The Silk Road, Fabrics from the Han to the T'ang Dynasties, 1973.

This large volume is bound in cream silk, embossed with a floral design on the front cover and gilt lettering to front and spine. Cover has been enclosed in clear plastic to form a pocket on the inside cover. With original card slipcase with embossed title. Slightly discolored.

This pocket contains a loose 12 page booklet written in Chinese. The book itself consists of 6 pages of description of the colour plates in Chinese plus approx 65 colour plates, all beautifully reproduced.

Published by China International Books/Wen Wu Publishing, Beijing in May 1973. Appears to be edited or produced on behalf of Xinjiang Museum/Museum of Sinkiang Uighur Autonomous Region.

Near fine condition throughout.

Towards rear of book, a plate of Chinese characters carries the inscription of 84-344.
