Underwood & Underwood Stereoscope 100 card set; Italy Through the Stereoscope.
Published by Underwood & Underwood, publishers; New York, London, Toronto-Canada, Ottawa - Kansas. Copyright dates from 1897-1908 on the images.
A rare complete card set of this Italian exploration.
All sequentially numbered from 1-100 (collated and carefully checked). The cards are housed in a sturdy box disguised as 2 book volumes with 'Volume II' and 'Volume III' on the spine. Open top. We think 'Volume 1' contained a book about the stereoscope cards in this set, and would have fitted onto open side of this set, to give the appearance of a 3 volume boxed set.
All 100 cards are present and in very good condition - this is a complete original set.
Each card is numbered and captioned to front and on rear (in 6 languages).
Each card approximately 88mm high x 178mm wide.
Approximate weight of set: 2.33kg (unpacked).
