Vintage E Leitz Wetzlar photography enlarger for darkroom with Smiths Johnson timer
Vintage E Leitz Wetzlar photography enlarger for darkroom with bakelite Smiths Johnson electronic timer. Both untested.
The enlarger is just named 'E Leitz Wetzlar', although it looks like the Focomat series made by Leitz (who formed Leica). Undated, but from appearances circa 1940s - which matches the lens date below.
Fitted with a Ross Resolux enlarger lens, serial no. 208542, which dates the lens to approximately 1947.
Sold as untested, and almost certainly would need to be rewired after all this time. It could be brought back to life either as an enlarger or could be upcycled into a fantastic retro lamp for the home, as it's a striking object. Classic industrial chic.
Mechanism moves well and holds its position when moved up and down on its mounting pole.
Weight approximately 9.5kg, unpacked.
Dimensions (including baseboard):
When fully upright: approximately 100cm high x 40.5cm wide x 54cm deep
