A near fine copy in full padded brown grained morocco leather with very light wear and bumping. With raised bands to spine and gilt title. There is one small indentation to the lowest panel of the spine.
With blind embossed line decoration. The front cover carries on onlayed brass crucifix, and with 4 gilt Gothic style initials to rear cover 'J.L.D.D.' - presumably previous owner. Endpapers are feathered marble. Full gilt edges to text block. With original red cloth ribbon.
The text is beautifully presented throughout - still very bright, and incorporating attractive red ink decoration and initials. With tipped-in illustrated plates.
