FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What if I have any technical problem trying to order from the website?

Just email us at info@lannaantique.com and we will be glad to help. If you cannot complete your order online, you can just let us know what items you wish to buy and we can send you an online invoice for payment.

How can I be sure that what I buy is genuine?

We have over 17 years experience selling South East Asian art in the UK - both via conventional retail routes and via the internet. You have our guarantee of authenticity on every antique purchase. We have many famous museums and academic institutions as clients.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes - the website will automatically calculate overseas postage for many countries. Please note: For larger or fragile items we may have to confirm exact postage as packing may mean that volumetric weight has to be used when calculating costs and our website cannot always do that automatically. If there is any variance in the postage cost we will contact you about this and you will be able to cancel your order if you do not wish to proceed.

For those countries which are not catered for automatically and are outside of our normal Checkout process, please email us and we will give you a separate quote for postage - which can also be invoiced via an online invoice.

We frequently ship to China and the Far East in particular, and often to USA and Canada - the website has now been updated to calculate postage automatically for most items, but we reserve the right to contact you with a revised postage cost should it not be possible to mail for the price quoted - it is very difficult for the website to do everything automatically due to the huge variety of products we have.

What kind of shipping sevice do you use?

It depends on the particular item, but as a guideline:

UK and Europe - items up to 2kg - Royal Mail, and in all cases we use a tracked service.

2kg - 5kg - for books and printed matter, also tracked Royal Mail, but often a courier service such as Parcelforce.
2kg-5kg - non books - Parcelforce or similar courier.

5kg upwards: Parcelforce 48hr/Global Priority or similar courier service.

For further afield such as China, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, USA, Australasia and Canada:
Up to 2kg - tracked Royal Mail airmail.
For books and printed matter only, we may also use Royal Mail for items up to 4kg or 5kg, depending on destination and value of the items.

Note, for Canada we only use Royal Mail up to 2kg regardless of content.
Other deliveries, Parcelforce Global Priority courier or similar.

For particularly valuable, heavy or fragile items we also can make special delivery arrangements.

What about particularly large, heavy or fragile items?

In the product descriptions you will notice that we sometimes place a note asking you to contact us prior to purchase to get an exact delivery quote. Some items do have special delivery requirements so it is best to clarify this beforehand.

What about import duties, local taxes and laws?

Our prices and delivery charges cover us delivering the item to your country. You have sole responsibility for paying any local duties or charges which may occur in your country.

It is also your sole responsibility to ensure that your country accepts the product you have ordered. for example if your country does not allow an antique wood products to be imported for environmental health protection reasons, then please do not order.

Please make your own local checks in advance as we have no responsibility for these and will not make any refunds or accept any returns due to legislation or taxes in overseas countries.

Can I inspect any item before I buy?

Yes, you can. We welcome you to visit us and encourage face to face inspection.
