A complete 2 volume set from the Library of former British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) & his son, Randolph S. Churchill (1911-1968). With bookplates of both to first pastedown of each volume. Lord John Russell (1792-1878) was twice British Prime Minister from 1846-1852 and 1865-1866.

Published by Longman, Green, and Co., London and New York. 1889 first edition. An uncommon first edition set, particularly enhanced by the Churchill connection.

A good set of 2 blue cloth hardbacks. Some mild shelf wear and bumping to extremities, with wear and nicks to head and tail of spines. Gilt titles to spine. Books are soundly bound, but with some give in the spine. With cracking to endpapers at inner hinges. Some light markings to endpaper edges.

Text is bright and clean throughout, with just the very occasional spot. Some spotting to frontispiece guards.
