A good dark blue hardback with printed pictorial cover with gilt titles to front and spine. Central panel depicts the view from Corfu towards 'Mouse Island'. Covers bumped with mild wear to extremities and a little frayed to head and tail of spine. Prize binding - the rear cover carries a gilt St. Paul's School (Concord, New Hampshire) emblem with the school's motto - Ea discamus in terris quorum scientia perseveret in coelis (Let us learn those things on Earth the knowledge of which continues in Heaven), with a prize label to the first pastedown dating to 1912. Small bookseller's sticker to first free endpaper. There is a little give in the front cover hinge. Spine slightly darkened.

Text is in fine condition - lovely and clean with no foxing. No offsetting to plates. An attractive book.
