Red Channels; The Report of Communist Influence in Radio and Television.

SOLD

Provenance; from the library of the late William St Clair (1937 - 2021), British historian, academic and author. No signature, but some annotations to rear cover. Please see our other listings for related works.

Published by American Business Consultants, Publishers of Counterattack, the Newsletter of Facts to Combat Communism, New York, June 1950, first edition. A publication of its time, from a fairly dark era of persecuting individuals working in the entertainment industry with supposed Communist sympathies. Scarce.

A fair paperback - front cover is torn and loss of small area near top of rear. Covers with discoloration. Last few pages in the book also have tears in the same area. The main text however is nice and clean and soundly bound. A good reading copy.

With some St Clair pencil annotations, which should be seen as an enhancement.

466pp. Text in English.

Weight approximately 270g unpacked.

Dimensions: Approximately 211mm high x 143mm wide x 13mm deep.
