A very good hardback with green linen over boards and dark green leather spine and corners. WIth rasied nads and tooled gilt decoration to spine. The spine is sunned to a brown colour (in an attractive way). With bumping and scrapes to corners and edges. Binding is tight and firm. With marbled endpapers.

The text block itself firm, and is bright and clean throughout, with gilt top edge. Endpapers with spotting, which ia also present on frontispiece tissue guard and in the margins of the portrait frontispiece. Light spotting to text block edges. An attractive volume.
