John Thadeus Delane; Editor of "The Times"; His Life and Correspondence, Arthur Irwin Dasent, 1908
A substantial Edwardian biography of the influential Victorian newspaper editor John Thadeus Delane, who steered The Times through major political, imperial, and social upheavals from 1841 to 1877. Written by Arthur Irwin Dasent and first published in 1908, this two-volume work draws on Delane’s private correspondence, diaries, and professional papers, offering detailed insight into his role in shaping public opinion and political discourse in nineteenth-century Britain.
