Classic humour with a medical theme from Richard Gordon (1921-2017), formerly a ship's surgeon and anaesthetist. His 'Doctor' work was adapted for film and television and became a firm British comedy favourite.

A very good set of black cloth hardbacks with printed spines with pictorial motifs. Housed in a set of good original dustjackets with some rubbing and wear and some nicks and nibbles to extremities on 3 of the volumes. In removable protective clear plastic. Some offsetting opposite jacket flaps. Soundly bound

The text is bright and clean throughout. Light spotting to edge of text block and endpapers. Previous owner's inscriptions from the 1950s to endpapers. 

Doctor in Love with previous owner's inscription to first free blank endpaper. Doctor in the House with cracked inner hinge.
