A smart and well-presented group from the Autograph Edition of the Works of William J. Locke, issued by John Lane at The Bodley Head in the mid-1920s, representing a uniform publisher’s series of one of the period's most widely read novelists. The selection offered here brings together a range of Locke's most popular and enduring works – including The Beloved Vagabond, The Morals of Marcus Ordeyne, and The Fortunate Youth. in his Far-Away Stories collection, is Ladies in Lavender, which was the basis of the 2004 movie starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.

Overall condition is very good. The volumes are uniform black cloth hardbacks with gilt titles to spine and Locke's facsimile signature to the front cover. Inside they have pictorial endpapers and black tinted top edges of text block.

With some light wear. Text is clean and bright and soundly bound. Some volumes with owner's name to first free endpaper. Spine of "The White Dove" is a little faded.
