Welcome to the wonderful world of Luigi Serafini. Piccola Pulcinellopedia is a surreal visual suite in nine scenes, dedicated to the Pulcinella mask, with lavish pencil illustrations and lightly ironic Italian captions. Printed in a limited run of only 5,000 copies; with no subsequent printings. The book followed from his rather wonderful and highly acclaimed Codex Seraphinianus, which was published in 1981. Perfect for fans of offbeat, highly visual, books.

Piccola Pulcinellopedia, Suite, by Luigi Serafini, and P. Cetrulo, who is credited with the illustrations (although this is a fictional alter-ego of Serafini).

Published by Longanesi & C, Milano, 1984 first edition.

A very good softback with printed card covers, and housed in a printed half slipcase to the lower part of the book (as issued). Slipcase with some discoloration spots and some wear and splitting to joints at edges.

Covers with some discolored age spotting, but soundly bound.

Text is bright and clear throughout with the entertaining illustrations pleasing the eye.

A visual treat.
