Bowsprit Ashore by Alexander H. Bone, 1932, with Freda Bone Woodcuts
Bowsprit Ashore by Alexander H. Bone, with an Introduction by H. M. Tomlinson and Woodcuts by Freda Bone.
Published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1932 first edition.
A good copy of this blue cloth hardback with scarce dustjacket. The dustjacket is rather grubby with toned spine and some small closed tears. Price clipped inside (via a torn corner).
The cloth hardback also slightly faded around spine area and age toned to edges. With Jonathan Cape bookmark/postcard. Soundly bound - no endpaper splits. Some tone marks to first and last endpapers. Text is very good throughout - nice and clean, and includes lovely woodcuts by Freda Bone. She was the daughter of Sir David William Bone (1874-1959), a Scottish Commodore and author.
279pp + 1pp epilogue.
