Detaille by Marius Vachon, 2 Volume Set complete. Features the work of French military artist, Jean-Baptiste Édouard Detaille (1848-1912).

Published by A. Lahure, Imprimeur-Editeur, Printed 30 November 1898. Presumed first edition. 

A good set of 2 brown cloth hardbacks with gilt titles. Covers are scuffed and worn and frayed to extremities. Slight mottling to cloth on Volume 1. A little give in the spines, but all bound.

Previous owner's signature to blank at front, and first pastedown and some offsetting to the blank endpapers 2nd from the front and rear. Beautifully illustrated with the main photogravure plates having tissue guards. Nice and clean. A very attractive illustrated book - the plates are particularly well produced..
