A smart, well illustrated Victorian edition of this Charles Dickens classic.

Published by Chapman and Hall, London, 1890. No stated edition. Printed by J.S. Virtue and Co., London.

A very good hardback with black leather spine and corners, with gilt raised bands and red morocco title label with gilt. Blind embossed tooled decoration to spine. Boards covered in burgundy cloth with chagrin style graining. With light scuffing and wear to leather extremities. Endpapers cracked to gutter, but all soundly bound. With frontispiece and fully illustrated half title depicting many characters from Dickens' works. Light spotting/offsetting to endpapers.

Text is bright and clean throughout. Particularly well illustrated throughout with in-text illustrations and full page plates. With red speckled text block edge, with some light age-spotting. A pleasing edition.
