The Midnight Folk by John Masefield is a classic work of early twentieth-century children’s fiction, combining elements of fantasy, adventure and mystery. First published in 1927, the story follows the young orphan Kay Harker as he uncovers a hidden world of secret passages, nocturnal intrigue and long-buried treasure. A near fine blue linen hardback of this children's classic. With gilt titles to front and spine. Blind stamp ruled border to front. Soundly bound. Crisp and bright without sun-fading. One small, discreet, mark to top left of rear cover, but barely noticeable.
Text is bright and clean throughout - possibly an unread copy. With blue top edge of text block, as issued. There is a blue colour run down the vertical edge - likely a production flaw when manufactured. No foxing to text pages at all, but the first and last few pages have some light spotting to the very edge of pages.
A very smart volume.
