Provenance; from the library of the late William St Clair (1937 - 2021), British historian, academic and author. No signature, and with minor pencil annotations at rear. This book is one of a number of books we have recently acquired, used in William St Clair's research for his book, 'The Door of No Return: The History of Cape Coast Castle and the Atlantic Slave Trade', published in 2007. Please see our other listings for related works.

A good green cloth hardback with gilt titles to spine. Bumped to corners and a little frayed to head and tail of spine. A few wear marks to the cloth. Slight give in the spine. Small Liverpool bookseller's sticker to first pastedown. Owner's inscription to first free endpaper dating to year of publication.

Text is good. Rough cut edges as issued. With scattered age spotting. Soundly bound.
