A very good hardback with full red morocco leather with tooled gilt decoration and raised bands to spine. Bumped  and worn to corners and head and tail of spine. Covers are bright and spine slightly dulled. Gilt dentelles to inner covers with marbled endpapers, partially cracked at inner hinges, but still soundly bound. Showthrough to gutter just before last text leaf.

With portrait frontispiece with tissue guard. Text is bright and clean throughout, and printed with decorative red borders. Gilt edges to text block. Plates and illustrations are clean and attractive.
