Authentic Nagaland blanket - throw - shawl, AD
Nagaland blanket - throw - shawl, Code: AD
We think it's safe to say that most people have never heard of Nagaland. It's a state in the far north east of India, bordering Burma and very seldom visited by Westerners. The only time we remember it even being mentioned in the UK media was when Gordon Ramsay visited it for one of the programmes in his recent Indian cooking series.
This is very much a tribal culture and tradition remains very important. Weaving is one of those traditions and this cotton throw is an excellent and rare example.
Definitely one for somebody who wants something very different fom their neighbours and it's not often we have stocked fabrics from Nagaland.
Note : this fabric is finished in the same way of left and right edges with tassles. This is a large throw and most of the pictures only show half the blanket as it is folded.
