Burmese lacquer set of 6 drinking cups, Yun elephant design, 7.3cm.

These mid 20th Century Burmese lacquer cups utilise a beautiful Yun design from Pagan (Bagan) featuring elephants. Yok-thei pattern with vegetal scrolling. Set of 6 cups.

Condition is very good. With variations in the decoration between cups.

Provenance: the property of an American diplomat, stationed in Asia in the 1950s and 60s.
