A very attractive Burmese wooden statue of a seated Hermit, as depicted by the leather hat. It is possibly Bodaw - the hermit/monk character from Burmese marionette theatre, or could possibly be a nat. A very unusual statue in very good condition.
Teakwood with polychrome finish, with the figure also lacquered. Supplied with a separate black base as shown. Mid 20th Century.
Dimensions: Height 37.5cm (including base). Base approximately 18.5cm wide x 16cm. Base height = 5cm.
