Published by Hodder and Stoughton, London. No stated edition, but this is the first time we have seen this cover variant, which more commonly features a portrait of Stevenson. The front cover features a scene from 'The Master of Ballantrae', by W. Hatherell, also featured inside. Undated, but c. 1910.

A very good hardback with paper over boards with printed gilt decoration and titles, and tipped on colour illustration to front. Spine with some discoloration. Minor wear. Soundly bound.

Text is bright and clean throughout with the coloured plates vibrant. Offsetting to endpapers and includes a related vintage newspaper clipping.
